Hutchinson makes Ivalua its master supplier database and secures supplier onboarding with Aprovall

A global industrial group managing up to 20,000 active suppliers across four continents consolidates fragmented data silos into a single, auditable, and scalable source of truth — in just two phases.
Fifteen disconnected databases and a growing compliance risk
Hutchinson, a global industrial group operating across Europe, North America, Brazil, and Asia, faced a critical structural problem: its supplier data was spread across roughly fifteen non-synchronized systems spanning procurement, finance, and industrial operations. The result was pervasive data inconsistencies, largely manual document collection workflows, and increasing exposure to compliance failures.
As Ivalua was being elevated to the group’s central SRM platform, and as international regulatory requirements continued to intensify, Hutchinson needed to fundamentally rethink how supplier data was governed — and how new suppliers could be created at global scale with full audit confidence.
A two-phase rollout: clean the data, then automate the workflow
Hutchinson chose to position Ivalua as the group’s master supplier repository and embedded Aprovall directly into the supplier creation process. The project was structured in two sequential phases: first, a thorough data cleansing and structural normalization effort; then, the deployment of an integrated business workflow combining automated document collection with Aprovall.
Aprovall handles the collection, validation, and versioning of supplier documents and compliance questionnaires. Rules are dynamically adapted to supplier attributes, ensuring that each onboarding journey is both targeted and traceable. The solution connects seamlessly with third-party tools and legal data sources, ensuring that data entering Ivalua is clean from day one.
Making Ivalua the master supplier database was a structural decision. Integrating Aprovall into the supplier creation process was the natural next step — to secure document collection, improve data reliability, and align procurement, finance, and IT around a single reference

You have question ?
We have answer.
Supplier master data management (MDM) is the process of consolidating and maintaining a single, accurate, and centralized record of all supplier information across an organization — including legal data, contact details, documents, and compliance status. It serves as the authoritative reference for procurement, finance, and operational systems.
Supplier onboarding automation typically involves digitizing document collection, implementing rule-based validation workflows, and integrating the onboarding process directly into the SRM or ERP system. Tools like Aprovall enable companies to collect, verify, and version supplier documents automatically — replacing manual emails and reducing time-to-active for new suppliers.
Fragmented supplier data — spread across multiple disconnected systems — creates data inconsistencies, duplicate records, compliance blind spots, and operational inefficiencies. It increases audit risk and makes it harder to enforce procurement governance at scale, particularly for international groups with complex supply chains.
Ivalua serves as the master supplier repository and SRM platform, while Aprovall manages the upstream document collection and validation process during supplier creation. Together, they create a seamless onboarding workflow: Aprovall ensures documents are complete and compliant before a supplier record is activated in Ivalua.
